Lee County Domestic Animal Services is celebrating the arrival of fall with a special October adoption promotion, “Pumpkin Spice and Everything Nice.”
From Oct. 1 through Halloween, animal lovers are invited to stop by Lee County Domestic Animal Services and pick the best of the patch – a new four-legged friend! Throughout the month, adoption fees will be reduced to $30 for dogs and $20 for cats and kittens with an approved adoption application.
With pets of all ages, sizes and personalities waiting for homes, October is the perfect time to add a little extra love to your family. Whether you’re looking for a playful puppy, a laid-back adult dog, a cuddly kitten or a sweet senior, there may be a perfect match waiting at the shelter.
All adopted pets receive a comprehensive adoption package that includes spay or neuter surgery, age-appropriate vaccinations, a county license, microchip with registration, a 10-day health check and guarantee, and heartworm treatment for dogs who test positive.
Adoptions take place at the shelter, 5600 Banner Drive, Fort Myers. Adoption hours are 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Adoption applications can be submitted electronically at www.leegov.com/animalservices/
You can view adoptable animals at www.LeeLostPets.com.

Lee County encourages the community to play an active role in the welfare of domestic animals. Responsible pet ownership is the key to reducing the number of animals in the county shelter. Pet owners must ensure the animal is identified and chipped, is properly vaccinated, is spayed or neutered, and is licensed.
The county would like to remind pet owners that licensing can be done online from a cell phone or computer; residents do not need to visit Animal Services in person. It’s a convenient, easy way to obtain a license and pay for it in one stop. Visit www.leegov.com/animalservices/
