The Fort Myers Beach Town Council is one public hearing away from approving the new One Particular Harbour Resort (formerly Silver Sands) at 1207 Estero Boulevard. A second public hearing will be held on September 9th at 1PM.
On Monday, after receiving no opposition, the Town Council swiftly approved moving the resort onto the final hearing by a vote of 4-0.
The new 6-story resort will have 60 rooms. The original boutique hotel had 22 units. The new One Particular Harbour resort includes 2,500 square feet of commercial space on the ground level, 51 onsite parking spaces, a rooftop pool, dock improvements on the canal behind the property, and streetscape improvements along Estero Blvd and Primo Drive. The property is located between The Whale and The Surf Club.

In July the LPA unanimously recommended approval of the project.

If the plan is approved by the Town Council after its second public hearing, TPI will have to go through the Development Order process which takes at least another 6 months.
Mayor Dan Allers recused himself from the discussion and vote Monday because his Golf Cart company does business with TPI’s Margaritaville.

LPA members did have concerns with traffic and cars stacking on Primo Drive, which is a very narrow road between the Silver Sands property and The Whale. Two parking spaces at the Estero Boulevard/Primo intersection were eliminated to help allevaite the LPA’s concerns.Â
The Silver Sands was destroyed by Hurricane Ian and the property was eventually sold to Margaritaville owner TPI for $7.1 million.

60 rooms need 60 parking spots plus parking for employees
We vacationed here for years before becoming full-time residents. Not once did we drive a car here while on vacation. We used local ride shares to get to and from the airport, then the Trolley to get from one end to the other. They DO NOT need 60 parking spots.
I concur, it seems to be everyones go to, “not enough parking”
Also lets not forget, this is a Margaritaville property, push comes to shove, there will be parking.
Look at the beautiful property Margaritaville built, this will be an asset.
I should have added: Employees can park off island at the LeeTran Trolley Beach Park & Ride lot and trolley over. Developers and the Town need to start thinking outside the box. We don’t need more cars or more parking on the island.
Too many parking spots. Have them use the Margaritaville garage or incentivize guests to use ride-share. Once they’re here, they don’t need to leave the island anyway. If they do, Uber for the one or two rides. Please start thinking outside the box with traffic and parking!
