According to Fort Myers Beach Town Councilwoman Karen Woodson, who was hoping to pull off the parade, it’s still too dangerous on Estero Boulevard to host one at this time.
The Lee County owned road is still littered with debris and there’s no hard time-frame as to when it will all be gone making it too difficult to organize a parade that requires months of planning.
Fort Myers Beach typically hosts a big parade on the 4th of July which would be followed up with fireworks later in the evening.
