330 golfers participated in the 13th annual Fort Myers Beach Woman’s Club Putt & Pub charity event this past Saturday where a record $65,000 was raised. The money will be distributed amongst 9 beach 501c3 organizations.
The event, sponsored by the King Family Foundation, featured the 9 non-profit organizations paired with 9 local restaurants to create a miniature golf course. Woman’s Club President Dawn Thomas said the event this year had a record number of sponsors as well. “A huge thank you to our sponsors this year who were so generous. Our non-profits and partnering restaurants created a fun-filled golf course. We even had the weather cooperated. Between our sponsorships, registration and business partnerships, we raised more than $65,000 for local non-profits.”
Over $34,000 will be divided between our 9 nonprofits with an additional $5000 that was donated to the participants from their partnering restaurant.
