The City of Sanibel Town Council has been meeting on a weekly basis to re-evaluate its COVID-19 State of Emergency. The council is meeting tonight to approve its 2021 budget.
Prior to the meeting Mayor Kevin Ruane extended the State of Emergency for another 7 days and that includes the mask mandate the council approved at the end of June.
The new declaration does strike the $50 fine that can be levied against individuals which is consistent with what the Governor announced last week.
