As residents struggle through the steps of getting back into their homes on Fort Myers Beach, many business owners are also struggling with how – and where – to get their businesses back up and running so they can make a living and take care of their customers.
Beach business owners are now working through insurance challenges, waiting on buildings to be demolished, deciding whether they should sell their property and dealing with the long permitting process. They still have bills to pay and family members to feed. Some have decided the wait on the beach will just be too long and have decided to move off the island.
Dr. Nicole Bennett sent a letter to her patients Monday telling them that, after months of “challenges, deliberations and changes,” she’s moving her practice – Bennett Chiropractic – to Bonita Beach Road. Bennett had been operating temporarily out of the Island Fit building at Summerlin Square. Her office at 7130 Estero Boulevard was severely damaged by the hurricane.
Bennett’s letter to her patients said she’ll be providing the same services in Bonita as she had been on Fort Myers Beach for the last 20 years. “Massage, Acupuncture, Laser, Functional Medicine, etc. Debbie Grier LMT will be providing massage services, Janna Clark with Anchor Mind and Body will provide her services, and Finley is thrilled to be back to work as well. I also look forward to adding new services in the near future to provide you with the best care you deserve.”
The new office officially opens Monday, June 19th.
