The state officially reopened the park on Wednesday when the directors of the facility did a site visit and decided the park was safe to reopen. Lovers Key State Park suffered extensive damage during Hurricane Ian and has been closed ever since.

Tram services will operate (8 a.m. to sunset) and will transport visitors to within 800 feet of the beach. Paddling equipment will be available for rent though the concession. The Discovery Center and boat ramp are closed. Please adhere to all posted signs and avoid closed areas. Please note: The park does not have electricity or drinking water.

Park Manager Katie Moses said it’s been a long road to get here, but a new chapter at the park has begun. “Currently, we are in a soft opening phase. We are working out any kinks that arise over the next week and readjusting to visitors back in the park after nine months. The park’s website has been updated to reflect our current offerings of amenities and notices about changes in the park.”
