The oil covered Heron who was rescued and treated at CROW last week was safely released from Bunche Beach on Oct. 10th. The bird’s release drew a lot of attention from beach goers. The Heron needed a little encouragement to get out of the cage but then took off happy to return to the wild.
The Heron is one of many animals recently released by CROW. A Red bellied Cooter, Laughing Gull, Chuck-will’s-Widow and a Red shouldered hawk were also returned to the land and sea. CROW currently has 142 patients and total patients admitted this year is 4,731!!!
