With so many people displaced from Hurricane Ian and not yet back in their homes on Fort Myers Beach, we wondered how that might impact the local election this November. Here’s what we found out…
According to the Lee County Elections office if you were displaced due to Hurricane Ian but you are a resident of Fort Myers Beach, and registered to vote at an address of Fort Myers Beach, you are eligible to vote in the upcoming Fort Myers Beach election. The election office advises voters to check their voter information status to ensure they are registered at their Fort Myers Beach address before the elections. You can do that HERE.
And, if you are wondering where you’ll be going to vote, Lee County Supervisor of Elections Tommy Doyle has been working with Fort Myers Beach Town Manager Andy Hyatt to set up a temporary site at Bay Oaks (2731 Oak Street) that would be the voting site for both precincts 309 and 321 on election days.
