The Keep America Beautiful Great American Cleanup is this Saturday at multiple locations across Lee County. Keep Lee County Beautiful is the local organizer and has been hosting the event for over 25 years.
There are two Fort Myers Beach locations, The Beach Elementary School and Bowditch Beach, which is full already.
Volunteers will be cleaning waterways, shorelines, roadways, and parks in the largest one-day event to help protect the environment.
Last year the Great American Cleanup removed over 14,000 pounds of litter and debris from the environment. The Great American Cleanup is open to volunteers of all ages and any individual, family, school, group, place of worship, business or government entity can coordinate or participate.

Please go to the calendar on the Keep Lee County beautiful website to sign up for the cleanup at the beach School. That way we know how much supplies are needed.
Mango street wetlands are in dire need of cleanup
There are many spots available for volunteers at the Beach School. Please come out to support your beach and help clean up the environment.
Perhaps we can use some of that FEMA to finish cleaning up the canals.
