Interior design, cabinetry, closet and millwork firm EDGE has been awarded the interior design contract for the new Beach Bar on Fort Myers Beach. The Beach Bar was destroyed by Hurricane Ian September 28, 2022 and is in the process of rebuilding.

“We are pleased to contribute to the revitalization of Fort Myers Beach through the interior design of The Beach Bar,” said EDGE Director of Interior Design Adriene Ged. “We look forward to creating an inviting, stylish space that invites both locals and visitors to continue enjoying this beloved beachside bar and entertainment venue.”

The new Beach Bar, designed by Studio A.D. and to be built by Stevens Construction, will be located on its original site at 1668 I Street. The Beach Bar will encompass approximately 10,000 square feet in a three-story building. The first floor is designed to provide customers with a unique experience in keeping with its festive small-town vibe, and will house an open-air bar, stage and restroom trailer.

The second and third floors be residential units.

The interior design concept includes a neutral stucco exterior façade with a pop of bright yellow Bahama shutters to tie in the Beach Bar’s long-standing yellow beer mug logo. The interior will be designed with a coastal modern aesthetic, a neutral color palette and contrasting light and dark cabinetry throughout.

The LPA has already approved the new Beach Bar plan. They do need to go before the Town Council for approval before construction can begin. It’s expected the Town Council will approve the item at 2 public hearings in August with construction beginning in the fall.

  1. That’s a weird setup. 10,000 sqft bar on floor 1 and does that mean 20,000 sqft residential over it? Thats about 5-10 units? Is it condos or residential? Who would want to live above a bar… just seems strange…
