46-year old Brian Johnson died Saturday while working on a boat near the Pink Shell Marina. According to employees from Fort Myers Tiki Tours, one of their captain’s saw Johnson, who was working on a ladder on a yacht named Wendy 1, slip and fall between the boat and the dock.

The Tiki Tour boat captain steered his boat, which was full of guests, over to where Johnson fell and yelled to people on land to call 911. At first they argued with the captain that they didn’t see anyone fall but eventually called 911.

Lee County Sheriffs Beach Units, Lee County Marine Units, US Coast Guard, Ft Myers Beach Fire Rescue, Iona Fire, and Sanibel Fire Rescue Boat responded to the scene to locate the Johnson. Iona Fire Divers located him submerged below the dock. The Lee County Sheriff’s office confirmed Johnson’s death was “a non-suspicious, accidental death.
