What To Do With All That Sand

The Town of Fort Myers Beach has set some rules for property owners who find themselves wondering what to do about sand that Hurricane Milton may have delivered to their properties.

The Town is requesting that you do not mix the sand with debris from the storm because that sand can be returned to the beach. However, the sand cannot include any debris as its placed back onto the beach.

No state or local government permit or other authorization shall be required for a public or private  property owner to return clean sand back onto the beach that has been deposited on the property owner’s property by the storm.

If you are placing sand on the beach, email chadd@fmbgov.com with the address and a picture of the sand.  It will be inspected.

The town says that if any debris is found in the sand, the owner will be required to remove it from the beach at the owner’s expense.

    • It’s cute she thinks that, especially since FL is a red state and since sand/beach issues are regulated in part by FDEP. 🤦‍♀️

Some people really have no clue how the world works.

    • Since Ian there have been 3 big focuses by Veach and Allers, both who are Democrats( and yes, I do know Veach is now gone)…The 3 have been sand, turtle lights and “work-force housing”. These are not what Republicans would have focused on. Republicans would have focused on cutting taxes, getting rid of the obnoxious regulation cleaning up the island AND BTW Holly O….you don’t live on FMB, nor in Florida yet you enjoy attacking/mocking home owners on FMB. What a pathetic little life you must lead to stalk message boards/forums that you are not even part of a community, nor are you welcome here. I am sure “Steve” will jump in and defend you. Quick research back into January 2024 would show how loathed you are by the people of FMB. None of us (except Steve) want to hear your comments and attacks. You are trying to be relevant, which you are not.

  1. Seriously? OK then stop putting millions of dollars of sand on the beach. Sounds like too many Democrats are in charge. They love regulations. We need to weed them out at the next election!
