A sure sign season is upon us is seeing the free tram make its way from Bowditch Beach park to the Library. Lee County runs the free tram and says it will return to Fort Myers Beach on Thursday, November 21st.
The free tram will run about every 30 to 40 minutes, seven days a week, from the library to Bowditch. Service begins at 8:20 a.m. daily at the library and ends with the last tram leaving Bowditch at about 10:55 p.m.
Last year, LC ran 1 tram with an extra car instead of 2 trams. Some will say that 1 tram is enough based on utilization. But only running 1 tram made wait times of up to an hour during peak times hours and with traffic. At that point we didn’t wait for a tram. Please run 2 trams.
Will they be running one like last year, or go back to running two? Totally agree with CJ, needs to go further. If possible, a third one would help during busy times.
Is there parking at the library or nearby for southenders wanting to go to Times Square area?
Extend the tram to at least Publix! And when Santini Plaza fully opens, extend the tram down there!
Yes that would be very helpful!
