The 7th annual Fort Myers Beach Woman’s Club Tree Festival was a smashing success with just over $40,000 raised for local nonprofit organizations.

The 2-day event included an in-person and online silent auction for 30 Christmas trees and a giant wall of Christmas wreaths. The well-attended event, held in the Bay Oaks gymnasium, included a vendor market and chili-tasting contest. The owners of The Whale took home first place in the chili contest.

The total dollar amount from each tree purchase goes directly back to the nonprofit that created the tree. Those nonprofits that participated included, among others, FMB Strong, the Fort Myers Beach Art Association, The Community Foundation, The Beach Kids Foundation, Turtle Time and Revive The Vibe.

Also at the event Alex King donated $30,000 to the Woman’s Club which will go toward their rebuild.

Next up for the Fort Myers Beach Woman’s Club is their annual Putt & Pub event on January 18th.

  1. What a wonderful community event! For many people trying to build back, this event offered a day of celebrating with good friends and neighbors and forgetting our cares and woes for the day. The FMB Woman’s Club should be commended for their hard work and spectacular event that benifitted over 30 nonprofits. Thank you from The Friends of the Library
