Tom Brady and Rebecca Link (pictured) have officially filed to run in the Fort Myers Beach recall election which will be held on November 4th.

Brady and Link are hoping to replace John King and Karen Woodson of the recall is approved by a majority of the voters.

Tom Brady

Brady has been a full-time resident of Fort Myers Beach since 2018. He told Beach Talk Radio News why he’s running. “After thoughtful consideration—and with the support of my wife, Sally, along with encouragement from many Fort Myers Beach residents, both those who signed the recall and those who did not—I am running for Town Council. My goal is to restore honesty, integrity, and community to Fort Myers Beach. As we approach a recall election, voters deserve real choices and responsible leadership that puts residents on a more than equal footing with other island stakeholders.”

Brady has been a big part of Protect FMB which is the group hoping to convince a judge to send the Seagate/Red Coconut approval back to the Fort Myers Beach Town Council for a second look. Protect FMB has raised tens of thousands of dollars to pay attorneys to fight the Seagate proposal. To date there has been a lot of back-and-forth court filings between Protect FMB and the town and Seagate. Both sides are now waiting for a judge to decide whether the Town Council followed their Comprehensive Plan and Land Development Code in approving the Seagate project or whether the Town Council should take another look at the project and possibly take another vote.

The seats King and Woodson occupy are up for election in November of 2026

We have invited both Link and Brady to come on a future show to talk about why people should vote for them.
