Next week Myerside Resort owners Beverly Milligan and Rolland Weinmann will be back before the Local Planning Agency to ask that their approved project be amended to include serving alcohol outside.

Milligan and Rolland Weinmann will request that an amendment be made to the schedule of uses to include outdoor consumption on premises for the planned hotel and restaurant. If approved, Myerside would be able to serve alcohol on a 690 sq. ft. outdoor dining patio at the restaurant on the ground floor level, and on the 3,000 sq. ft. rooftop pool area on the third floor of the hotel.

In June of 2024, the Fort Myers Beach Town Council approved the project, located next to the Fort Myers Beach library in a 4-1 vote. When built, the 53,463 square foot resort will include 45 hotel rooms, four live/work units, 9,000 square feet of retail space, and a restaurant on the 1st floor. The outdoor consumption of alcoholic beverages was not addressed during the approval of the CPD.
Back in June of 2024 Millgan expected permits to take 8-10 months with construction beginning in late 2025 and 18-24 months to build.

All but one of the 7 Myerside cottage buildings on the 1.03 acre lot were wiped out on September 28, 2022.

  1. What a great asset that would be for the over all project going. We need to get things back up!
It is very difficult t have a restaurant without serving alcohol. Would be tough to make any money.
