The new Bonita Fish Company opens this Monday. Located under the Matanzas Pass Bridge, the latest HM Restaurant Group restaurant will offer a seafood-centric menu and relaxed waterfront atmosphere.
The restaurant will serve lunch and dinner from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday to Sunday.
The menu highlights Gulf-caught seafood and coastal favorites such as shrimp and grits, house-smoked mullet, fried grouper sandwiches, shrimp torpedoes, the catch of the day, and the BFC hot chicken sandwich. Guests can also enjoy oysters, house-smoked brisket, chowder and peel-and-eat Gulf shrimp with house-made cocktail sauce.
They also plan to serve brunch every Friday through Sunday between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m., featuring dishes like brisket egg sandwiches with chimichurri, shrimp and grits and house-baked cinnamon rolls. Signature brunch drinks include the Bonita Mary with a smoky honey-habanero rim, the Mimosa of the Day with fresh squeezed juice and a Salted Caramel Espresso Martini.
“A lot of thought went into creating the exciting new menu concept as well as our cocktails,” said Krystian Martinez, general manager of Bonita Fish Company. “Guests will enjoy great food, friendly service and an inviting relaxed atmosphere.”

“We’re excited to open the doors and share Bonita Fish Company with the community,” said Joe Harrity, a partner with HM Restaurant Group, which owns and operates Bonita Fish Company. “This spot has deep roots, and we wanted to honor that history while adding our own touch – great seafood, great people and a place where guests feel right at home.”
Originally built in 1926 and most recently home to Bonita Bill’s, the nearly century-old site has been thoughtfully renovated to combine the feel of a dockside fish house with modern comfort and a welcoming atmosphere.
Bonita Fish Company welcomes walk-in guests, reflecting the relaxed, come-as-you-are style of Fort Myers Beach. Dock space is available for visitors arriving by boat, accommodating up to 10 vessels depending on size.

Bonita Fish Company also offers Bayside Private Events, an indoor-outdoor waterfront event venue accommodating plated dinners for 70 guests and up to 150 people for standing receptions. It’s one of a select few standalone waterfront event spaces in Lee County. A floating dock marina with 30 to 35 slips and annual leases opens in early 2026.
