Residents Can Now Park Anywhere

The town of Fort Myers Beach has increased its annual parking fee for residents from $25 to $50. The 100% increase comes with added value. Residents can now park in any town owned parking space on the island.

That includes the Waistin Away parking lot on Estero Boulevard across from The Whale which is a $5.00 per hour lot for visitors. It also includes all beach accesses and Old San Carlos Boulevard which are all town onwed spots.

Prior to the rate hike, residents could only park under the Matanzas Pass Bridge during season.

To get your annual parking pass you must bring your roof of residency to Town Hall and pay the $50.00 fee.

  1. I found out that you have to live on Estero island for this pass. I was very dissatisfied as I live off the island and my address is Fort Myers Beach , and they would not give me a pass. I live at Boardwalk Caper and I have a 33931 zip which is Fort Myers Beach.

    • 33931 may be FMB for USPS, but you’re outside the town limits. You must live with town limits to be a resident and eligible for the resident parking pass.

  2. I would love the town of Fort Myers Beach to include my zip code of 33931 which is Fort Myers Beach. Thank You for your attention to this matter.

  3. The town website states the following:

Valid for all Estero Island beach accesses, areas under the Matanzas Pass Bridge, Town Hall parking spaces designated as paid parking, and the Waistina Way parking lot (next to the Margaritaville Pool).

Excluded areas: Newton Park, parking along Old San Carlos Boulevard, Lagoon Street, Center Street, Fifth Street, Estero Boulevard, and all Lee County properties (Lynn Hall Park, Crescent Beach Park, Bowditch Park). Parking fees in these areas are not covered by the permit.

    • I just renewed my parking permit Friday and they gave me a sheet of paper stating just that. The streets mentioned are still not allowed with the permit. Under the bridge, beach accesses, and next to Margaritavilles pool are included.
I’d like to know who is wrong here. The lady at the front desk or the person Ed got his info from.
