On Monday, the Fort Myers Beach Town Council will consider a resolution put forth by Vice Mayor Rexann Hosafras to make March Believing in Girls Month. March is also Women’s History Month in the United States.

The town’s proclamation gives praise to an organization called the PACE Center for Girls which was launched in 1985 with one location in Jacksonville and now has 22 locations in Florida and Georgia including one in Lee County. The organization is dedicated to changing the lives of girls through the development of critical life, health, and academic skills.

On March 11th the PACE Center for Girls of Lee County will be honoring three local women for their lifelong impact in business, philanthropy and community engagement, and promoting awareness of the services provided by Pace Center for Girls of Lee County.
