TripAdvisor has released its 2021 “Best of The Best” restaurant awards, and two establishments on Fort Myers Beach have made their lists. Doc Ford’s and The Doghouse.
Doc Ford’s on Fort Myers Beach came in first place on TripAdvisor’s list of “U.S. Everyday Eats Restaurant.” The Doghouse came in 9th in Trip Advisor’s “Quick Bites Restaurant” category.
The awards are calculated based on the quality and quantity of traveler reviews and ratings for restaurants on Tripadvisor collected from January 1, 2020 – April 30, 2021.
Doghouse co-owner Adam Clark told Beach Talk Radio News, “I just want to say thank you to the locals and vacationers for making this possible…we put in a lot of hardwork and care but without all the positive word of mouth and great reviews we wouldn’t be what we are today! So we would like to say thank you! To all of our valued customers for making this happen. Also we would like to thank our tremendous staff. They have been working very hard to help us achieve this….and without them we would have never gotten here.”
Joe Harrity from Doc Ford’s said, “Sure thing, we’re incredibly honored and excited to be chosen as the #1 TripAdvisor “Everyday Eats” restaurant in the country. It speaks volumes about the staff that we have, and the management team over there, they’re really the best of the best and work incredibly hard in all facets of the business. Also a special thanks to all our customers who took the time to share their experience they had with us on TripAdvisor.”
Awards are given across the U.S., for domestic travelers, as well as internationally, for Americans venturing abroad after a long hiatus. Perfect for those who have just a short time in town, these awards identify restaurants worth traveling for, booking advance reservations at, and maybe just luxuriating in while you enjoy being on the road again.
