Who wouldn’t want to sit on the patio of The Tuckaway Cafe with an ice cold, freshly brewed craft beer. Tre Gillette, owner of the popular Tuckaway Cafe on Estero Boulevard, is going through the process that would allow his establishment to brew and sell craft beer.

Because Tuckaway Cafe is zoned Commercial Planned Development Gillette needs to ask the town for an amendment to the CPD in order to brew beer for consumption. This week the Local Planning Agency approved his request.

The next step is to go before the town council for two public hearings and the council needs to pass the plan as an ordinance. Then it’s on to the county and state for their approval.

Gillette says the plan is to make the beer in 10-15 gallon batches then sell it by the glass or can for customers to consumer at the cafe only.

If approved Tuckaway can make and sell up to 10,000 kegs of beer per year.

The Tuckaway Cafe has had a beer and wine license since 2017.

Back in September of 2021, Tre, and his wife Amy, owners of the Tuckaway Cafe, celebrated their 10th year of ownership of their successful business.
