Town Manager Sends Letter to School Board.
The Town of Fort Myers Beach is pulling out all the stops to try to save the Beach School from being demolished. Town Manager Will McKannay has sent a letter to the Lee County School Board and copied a long list of high ranking officials.

Town Hosting Bay Oaks Grand Re-Opening Celebration

Town Starts Process to Fight The School District
On Monday the Fort Myers Beach Town Council initiated its first action against the Lee County School District which the town believes is in "material breach" of the Interlocal Agreement the district signed with the town to rebuild the the Beach School.
Kona Beach Club Demo Date SetÂ
Another red-tagged building is scheduled to be demolished. A landmark on the north end, Kona Beach Club, located at 474 Estero, is finally coming down after a three-year insurance struggle that is still not settled.Â
LPA Incumbents Reappointed
Anita Cereceda, Jane Plummer, and James Boan were all reappointed to the Local Planning Agency Monday. The seats are all 2-year terms. Council members John King and Karen Woodson did not vote for Cereceda.
Big Raise For The Town’s Legal Firm
The Fort Myers Beach Town Council has unanimously approved a new contract to The Vose Law Firm. The rate for legal representation is being increased from $25,000 per month to $37,000 per month ($450,000 per year). Pictured here is Becky Vose.
Catholic Church Unveiling Plans This Friday
This Friday at 2PM parishioners from The Church of The Ascension on Fort Myers Beach will see plans and renderings of the new building the church plans to build at 6025 Estero Boulevard. We will broadcast that meeting live.Â
Town Settles Former Employee Lawsuit
On Monday the Fort Myers Beach Town Council voted 4-1 to approve a settlement agreement with former town employee Pareshkumar Patel. The amount the town will pay Patel is $50,000. Mayor Dan Allers voted agains the settlement.Â
