When you heard the Fort Myers Beach VFW needed help, it only took you 12 days to accomplish the mission; raise $25,000 in order to receive another $25,000 to match the money raised. Today we went over that mountain.

The Beach Now Has 135,000 New Plants

And more plants are coming. On Monday the Fort Myers Beach Town Council will likely approve a $95,710 add-on to Earth Balance’s dune plantings contract. The additional plantings will be paid for by an FDEM grant.

Myerside Will Not Break Ground For At least 1 More Year

The project was originally approved by the Town Council in June of 2024. Owner Beverly Milligan tells Beach Talk Radio News that she’s hoping for final approval of the Development Order by the end of this year, then it’ll be another 10 months of design and permitting.

Here Comes The Ice Cream Man

Property owner Carlos Chavez took the first major step to building back the first new structure in Times Square. The LPA unanimously approved Chavez’ 3-story structure which will include a mobile ice cream unit on the ground floor.

Sand Sculpting Volunteers Needed

Hundreds of volunteers are needed for the 35th Annual Sandsculpting Championships on Fort Myers Beach November 20th through the 24th. The Chamber relies on these volunteers to make this event the success it’s been for over 3 decades. CLICK HERE.
