King Gets Court Ruling Win
On Monday, Judge Kyle Cohen gave Fort Myers Beach Town Councilman John King some good news when he basically ruled King could remain in his seat, even if he lost the recall vote, while an appeal the recallers filed is being heard.

Another Fort Myers Beach Ribbon Cutting
On Monday the Fort Myers Beach Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon cutting celebration for the new Bonita Fish Company. The restaurant, under the Matanzas Pass Bridge, reopened at 11AM.
Residents Can Now Park Anywhere
The town of Fort Myers Beach has increased its annual parking fee for residents from $25 to $50. The 100% increase comes with added value. Residents can now park in any town owned parking space on the island.
St. Peter’s Breakfast is Back
St. Peter’s Lutheran Church at 3751 Estero Boulevard is hosting another breakfast celebration Saturday, November 15th at 9AM. This is a free church event and everyone is welsome.
Celebrating 75 Years of Art
The Fort Myers Beach Art Association celebrated a big birthday on Saturday. Highlights of the celebration included a special “Mini Masters” show of small original matted paintings, a members’ artwork exhibition, and live music.
It’s a Board Game About Sanibel
Inspired by family trips to Sanibel Island and collecting seashells there, board game designer Elizabeth Hargrave has teamed up with Avalon Hill to create SANIBEL, a tile placement game.

Fire District Merger Advances to Legislature
On Tuesday the Southwest Florida State Delegation voted to move the merger of the Fort Myers Beach and Iona Fire Departments to the next step. The bill will now go before several committees in Tallahassee.
Judge Will Not Stop The Recall
The recall of Fort Myers Beach Town Council members Karen Woodson and John King will go forward as scheduled Tuesday. Judge Kyle Cohen ruled on Thursday that he has no plan to stop the election or seal any election results.
King Has No Plans To Give Up his Seat
Council member John King believes Judge Kyle Cohen’s ruling that the “fatal” error in the petition to recall him allows him to stay in his seat and that’s what he plans to do.
Church Celebration Planned
St. Peter Evangelical Church at 3751 Estero Boulevard is holding a building rededication ceremony on Sunday, November 23rd at 9AM. The church was heavily damaged by Hurricane Ian over 3 years ago and recently reopened for services.
