On Monday the Fort Myers Beach Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon cutting celebration for the new Bonita Fish Company. The restaurant, under the Matanzas Pass Bridge, reopened at 11AM.

HM Restaurant Group, the owners of Doc Ford’s Rum Bar & Grille and Dixie Fish Company, purchased the iconic Bonita Bill’s in early 2025. The restaurant was closed for 10 months so HM could make repairs and upgrades.

The name of the restaurant was changed from Bonita Bills to Bonita Fish Company and on Monday at 11AM customers lined up waiting to be the first to check out the food, the new outdoor bar, and enjoy a beautiful Florida day on the water. Bonita Fish Company now features approximately 300 indoor and outdoor seats.
