By a vote of 5-0 the Fort Myers Beach Town Council voted to move the new Salty Crab building proposal onto a 2nd public hearing. If council approves the project at the next hearing owner Greg Powers plans to break ground later this year.

On Monday the Fort Myers Beach Town Council voted unanimously to move the Estero Island Beach Club rebuild proposal onto a 2nd reading on June 16th. The 75-unit time-share building, destroyed by Hurricane Ian, was converted from a motel back in 1981.

Ebikes Are Now Allowed on Sidewalks

The Fort Myers Beach Town Council has voted to change its ordinance and will now allow ebikes on town sidewalks. Council members are hoping riders use common sense while riding close to pedestrians. It's going to be nearly impossible to enforce.
