And that letter will be phase one to get the island cleaned up. Town Manager Andy Hyatt spent half a day driving down every street, taking notes and pictures of properties that need to be cleaned up. Here's the plan.
Terry Persaud’s Fines Now Total $2.7 Million
Times Square property owner Terry Persaud has been locked in a nasty battle with the town of Fort Myers Beach for years. The town has been racking up code violation fines against Persaud, accusing him of operating an illegal parking lot, and renting beach furniture without a permit.
The PTO Cornhole Tournament is Back
The Fort Myers Beach Elementary PTO has announced the new location for its Cornhole Tournament. DiamondHead Resort will host the fundraiser that had been held at The Cottage before Hurricane Ian. This year the event will be November 11th.

Here is This Week’s Turtle Nesting Update
Turtle Time has documented 71 loggerhead nests on Fort Myers Beach and 11 nests remain. On Bonita Beach, Turtle Time reports 152 nests and 29 remain. Sanibel has 24 green sea turtle nests.

New Temporary Town Hall By October 1st
And that new location will be on the Bay Oaks property. Right now the town rents a slew of trailers from the state and they sit on property owned by the Fort Myers Beach Fire District.
Times Square Electrical Could Be Costly
The cost to wire electricity to a new clock in Times Square could cost up to $151,000. The Town Council gave Town Manager Andy Hyatt the go ahead not to exceed that amount to get the job done.
The Farmers Market is Back September 1st
The popular Fort Myers Beach Farmers Market, put on by Linda Miller, returns to the beach Friday, September 1st. Before the storm, the Farmers Market was held at Beach Baptist and Santini Plaza. On September 1st the market reopens in Times Square.
