As if you needed any more proof that Fort Myers Beach was ground zero for Hurricane Ian. Lee County Tax Appraiser Matt Caldwell has released the estimated tax roll figures for 2023. Out of all Lee County municipalities, Fort Myers Beach will take the biggest hit.

Kids Should Back at School November 13th
According to a letter the Lee County School Board sent to members of the Fort Myers Beach School ad-hoc committee, demolition on the Beach School should begin June 14th and the kids should be able to return to their school on Monday, November 13th.

Whale Anniversary Party This Month
Mike and Dawn Miller, the owners of The Whale on Fort Myers Beach, have announced June 17th will their one-year anniversary party. The Whale was destroyed by Hurricane Ian. The Miller's plan to rebuild the popular restaurant and are now working through the permit phase
County Hurricane Workshop is Monday
Hurricane season started this week (June 1) and runs through November 30. Lee County is hosting a workshop to help you prepare. Speakers will share best practices, lessons learned and offer guidance on how to prepare for hurricane season.

The Beach Waterway Cleanup is Tomorrow
Keep Lee County Beautiful is in need of boaters and kayakers to participate in their waterway cleanup Saturday from 8am-12pm. In collaboration with Moss Marina and the Mound House, KLCB will be cleaning the Fort Myers Beach Yacht Basin and the Estero Bay Aquatic Preserve.
