On Monday the Fort Myers Beach Town Council unanimously approved a contract for new Town Manager Will McKannay. McKannay was the unanimous choice to replace the departing Andy Hyatt back on April 18th. His first day will be May 19th.

Our 3rd Annual Day Before Mother's Day 5K Run and 1-Mile walk is this Saturday. The event will start and finish at Margaritaville Resort where the Meagan Rose Band will perform live after the medal ceremony.

In the past many of you have helped us raise money for ebikes for people in need, dogs who've been shot, washers and dryers lost in a hurricane, and so many other causes. Now we need some last minute help for our race to benefit The Fort Myers Beach Community Foundation.

On Thursday the owners of the Seaside Condo's (across from Publix) are hosting a ribbon cutting ceremony now that they are finally back open after Hurricane caused extensive damage to their building. The public is invited to attend and Beach Talk Radio will be there to cover it live.

The next membership meeting for the Fort Myers Beach Woman’s Club is Wednesday at 6:30 at the Island’s Pancake House. The guest speaker will be Fort Myers Beach Fire Chief Scott Wirth to provide an update on the new fire house being built.

The Fort Myers Beach Woman’s Club is hosting a Pub Crawl down old San Carlos on Thursday, May 29th. Check in is at 5PM at Bayside Park. Participants will crawl from Snug Harbor to Wahoo Willie’s to S.O.B.

The 13th annual “Ding” Darling & Doc Ford’s Tarpon Tournament, a fundraiser for Sanibel’s J.N. “Ding” Darling National Wildlife Refuge, takes place this Friday from 6:45 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Fort Myers Beach Art Association is presenting “Ripples” the Summer Show at the Tribby Art Center at Shell Point in Fort Myers on Friday May 16th. Admission is free.
