After a 6 hour public hearing last month, and another 6-hour public hearing Monday, the Fort Myers Beach Town Council approved a proposed food truck entertainment venue at 2500-2510 Estero Boulevard.  

The Fort Myers Beach Community Foundation’s largest fundraising event, Viva Las Vegas, is Saturday at DiamondHead. Proceeds from the event directly benefit the beach community by supporting many local organizations.

Mike and Dawn Miller gave us another look inside the new Whale restaurant on Estero Boulevard. When completed, the 3-story structure will include glass walls so customers can see the Gulf and a gigantic tiki bar on the top floor. Watch the wakaround HERE.

Margaritaville on Fort Myers Beach is launching a new Sunday brunch at JWB Grill. The brunch, starting April 13th and served from 10AM to 2PM, will be open to the general public.

At a Special Magistrate hearing Tuesday, attorney Noel Davies, representing Sergei Kaminskiy, told Judge John Laningham that a demo contract has been signed and as soon as a permit is issued by the town, the structure will be gone within 30 days. The town is skeptical.

One year after voting no on a Future Land Use Map Amendment that would have set The Arches redevelopment project on a better path, the Fort Myers Beach LPA will take another look at The Arches, proposed for the Moss Marina property, Tuesday morning.

The Town of Fort Myers Beach is losing its current Town Manager Andy Hyatt, and now, its Finance Director. Joe Onzick, who was hired in March of 2023, gave his 30-day notice April 1st. It appears the number of hours he has to put in to get the job done was just too much.
