The Town of Fort Myers Beach will be getting a $1 million federal grant to help pay for the cost of the redevelopment of the Bay Oaks Recreational Campus. The grant is from the National Park Service - Land and Water Conservation Fund.  

Due to clocks rolling back this past weekend, the live bands that perform in Times Square on weekends will now begin at 5:30PM and end at 9:30PM. The entertainment is provided for free to the public by the downtown merchants association. Bands play every Friday and Saturday evening in the square.

(By Kim Ryan) The Fort Myers Beach Woman’s Club invited members to bring a guest to this past Wednesday’s monthly meeting. It included a special presentation by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad. That visit included some very cool technology and a few extremely smart four-legged friends.

Lee County will contribute $1.4 million toward lights on Estero Boulevard. That's the dollar amount the county and the Fort Myers Beach government agreed to as part of the Estero Boulevard road construction project.

The annual Big Book Sale in the Fort Myers Beach Library Parking Garage will be Saturday, November 20th and Sunday, November 21st. The cost is only $15.00 to fill up a large reusable grocery with as many items as you can

And it couldn't come at a better time. Manatees are being killed in record numbers, mostly because their food is disappearing. 988 manatees have died so far in 2021 in the state of Florida. FWC wants boaters to be aware that manatees are now on the move.

The Lee County Board of County Commissioners has accepted a $10 million grant from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection to add new sand to 1.1 miles of beach at Lovers Key State Park.
