Chas Gets Promoted
HM Restaurant Group has promoted Chas Tatigian to culinary director. The newly created position is new to the company, which owns Doc Ford’s Rum Bar & Grille, Dixie Fish Company and the recently purchased Bonita Fish Company.
Sanibel Hurricane Ian Documentary
On Sanibel: The Hurricane Diaries, a new documentary that captures the resilience of Sanibel Island in the aftermath of Hurricane Ian, will premiere on Thursday, May 15th at 3PM at the Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center as part of the Fort Myers Film Festival.
Campaign Underway to Recall 2 Council Members
A recall campaign is underway to oust Town Council members John King and Karen Woodson from the Fort Myers Beach Town Council. The recall committee has 29 days to collect 337 signatures of registered voters to keep the process alive.
Town Council Close to Approving Arches Development
Another major development project is on the verge of being approved. On Monday the Fort Myers Beach Town Council voted to move The Arches redevelopment project onto a second public hearing on June 2nd. If approved at that hearing, the project can proceed.
Town Approves New Town Manager Contract
On Monday the Fort Myers Beach Town Council unanimously approved a contract for new Town Manager Will McKannay. McKannay was the unanimous choice to replace the departing Andy Hyatt back on April 18th. His first day will be May 19th.
We Run On The Beach This Saturday
Our 3rd Annual Day Before Mother's Day 5K Run and 1-Mile walk is this Saturday. The event will start and finish at Margaritaville Resort where the Meagan Rose Band will perform live after the medal ceremony.
Last Chance To Help Us With The Race
In the past many of you have helped us raise money for ebikes for people in need, dogs who've been shot, washers and dryers lost in a hurricane, and so many other causes. Now we need some last minute help for our race to benefit The Fort Myers Beach Community Foundation.
Seaside Ribbon Cutting is This Thursday
On Thursday the owners of the Seaside Condo's (across from Publix) are hosting a ribbon cutting ceremony now that they are finally back open after Hurricane caused extensive damage to their building. The public is invited to attend and Beach Talk Radio will be there to cover it live.
