Town Lifts Mask Mandate
Shortly after the Governor announced he was invalidating all local COVID-19 ordinances, the town of Fort Myers Beach Town Council rescinded its mask and social distancing ordinance. Councilman Bill Veach was the lone no vote.
Taste of The Beach Was a Smashing Success
Over 100 volunteers, 15 food trucks and restaurants and 38 vendors and non-profits took part in the 25th Annual Taste of The Beach Sunday. One of the attendees was Lee County Commissioner Ray Sandelli, who joined us on our live broadcast during the event.

Nuisance Abatement Board Meets
The new board was organized in September 2020 following the murder of 22-year old Johnny Jackson at the Lani Kai, which took place in July. Monday's meeting was organizational with town attorney John Herin explaining the rules board members must follow.

DeSantis Invalidates All Local COVID Orders
In St. Petersberg Monday Governor Ron DeSantis announced he was using his executive powers to terminate all local COVID-19 orders, effective immediately. The governor also signed a bill limiting local governments’ ability to shut down businesses and schools during an emergency.

Kiwanis Rewards Kids For Good Grades
The Kiwanis Club of Fort Myers Beach has donated items from their BUG Program (Bringing Up Grades) to the Beach Elementary School. Unlike a traditional honor program where only “A’s” are rewarded, this program rewards and recognizes students who improve their grades.
