Turner Beach Closing For Two Months
According to the City of Sanibel, Turner Beach Park will be closed for construction from Tuesday, September 8 through Friday November 6. Lee County owns Turner Beach. The City of Sanibel has an Interlocal Agreement with Lee County to manage the park.

Boat Fire Causes $100,000 in Damage
The Fort Myers Beach Fire Department, Office of the Fire Marshal, is the lead investigating authority for the marine fire, which occurred Saturday, August 29. According to Executive Assistant Fire Chief Ron Martin, the District’s Fire Marshal, determining the cause may take weeks.
Sea Racer Also Damaged in Fire
The 70 foot Sea Racer, which happened to be parked next to Bruce Pierce's boat at Salty Sam's when it caught on fire, was also badly damaged in the fire.
DeSantis Extends Deadline For Alcohol Renewals
Governor DeSantis has delayed the existing renewal deadline, to December 31, for any license, permit, registration, or certificate issued by the Department of Business and Professional Regulation, Div. of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco, for the sale of alcoholic beverages. Read the new order HERE.

Town Manager Causes Audit Issue for Town
The Town of Fort Myers Beach Audit Committee was asked to review the town's investment policy and consider changing it. The reason they were being asked to consider the change was because of two audit findings against the town.
Sheriff To Present to Council Today
At today's M&P Town Council meeting, the Lee County Sheriff's Department will make a presentation and answer council questions about public safety and the possibility of adding a Nuissance Abatement Board, according to the town council agenda.
Today is Dog Day At The Library
