Town Manager Causes Audit Issue for Town

The Town of Fort Myers Beach Audit Committee was asked to review the town's investment policy and consider changing it. The reason they were being asked to consider the change was because of two audit findings against the town.

Sheriff To Present to Council Today

At today's M&P Town Council meeting, the Lee County Sheriff's Department will make a presentation and answer council questions about public safety and the possibility of adding a Nuissance Abatement Board, according to the town council agenda.

Today is Dog Day At The Library

Quiet Title Lawsuit Has Not Been Filed

We reached out to Eddie Rood, who's on a mission to build a dune walkover/boardwalk to the beach behind his Estero Boulevard home, despite being denied a special exception from the town. He confirmed he has not yet filed a Quiet Title lawsuit.

New COVID Cases at Lowest Levels in Two Months

According to Lee County Commission Chairman Brian Hammon, for the first time since mid-June, the average number of new Covid-19 cases in Lee County is below 100. Over the last 7 days, an average of 91 new cases have been confirmed each day. At our peak last month, that same average was 489 new cases per day.

Roar Offshore Hosting Cape Coral Event

The Roar Offshore Fun Run will take place on the dates of the originally planned Fort Myers Beach Roar Offshore National Championship Powerboat Races October 9th - 11th. The event will take place at The Westin Cape Coral Resort at Marina Village.

Early this year members of the town of Fort Myers Beach Town Council started receiving complaints that speed limit signs in the waters around the island were changed and boaters were speeding through areas that were known for Manatee.
