Lee County COVID Cases Continue To Plummet

As of Thursday afternoon there were 60 COVID-19 patients at Lee Health System hospitals. With 72% of Lee Health's ventilators in use only 4 of those patients have COVID, and with beds at 91% capacity only 4.5 % of those beds are being used by COVID patients.

The Lee County Sheriff's Department wants residents to know deputies are ready to keep the community safe during spring break. Broadcasting live from Fort Myers Beach the Sheriff's Department reported, in a 48-hour period, deputies had already written 13 citations, given 31 warnings and made two arrests. At Monday's town council meeting Vice Mayor Rexann Hosafros voiced her frustration with state of Florida's vaccine program. She said tempers are rising and she was publicly venting in hopes word will get back to the state that the process they have in place to distribute the vaccine isn't working.
