It’s been a long road to recovery for the Fort Myers Beach Public Library. The building suffered significant damage in Hurricane Ian, most notably the elevator was rendered useless and has been the biggest headache getting repaired.

This week the Town of Fort Myers Beach began the demolition of the 7-11 building at 6221 Estero Boulevard. The town purchased the .37 acre piece of property, which is located right next to the new Town Hall, for $1.7 million.
