Emotions Run Hot at Seagate Public Hearing
Despite significantly more public opposition than last month, the Fort Myers Beach Town Council voted 3-1 to move the Seagate redevelopment of the 10-acre Red Coconut property to a final public hearing on December 16th.
Neptune One Step Away From Final Approval
On Monday the Fort Myers Beach Town Council gave the Continental Hospitality Group the first of two needed yes votes before the resort rebuild can begin. A second public hearing will be held December 16th where the project would move forward with a second Town Council yes vote.
Historic Society Announces New Offerings and Holiday Event

Town Targets La Ola First
The first and only case that has been assigned to an outside hearing administrator regarding trailers on Fort Myers Beach is La Ola. The town is using the Florida State Division of Administrative Hearings for all the trailer violations at a cost of $207.00 per hour to taxpayers.
Mound House Director Recommends Closing Exhibit
Fort Myers Beach Mound House Director Adam Knight shocked members of the Cultural & Environmental Learning Center Advisory Board when he recommended the town close the underground exhibit at The Mound House. It turned into a very heated discussion between Knight and the committee.
Boat Parade is One Week From Saturday
The 36th Annual Fort Myers Beach Chamber of Commerce Christmas Boat Parade is set for Saturday, December 7th at 6:00 PM. The parade will begin at Salty Sam’s Marina and cruise through the scenic waters of Estero Bay. Enter your boat HERE.

Who Won The 2024 Sand Sculpting Crown?
The 34th annual Sand Sculpting Championships returned to Fort Myers Beach, after a 5 year hiatus. Fort Myers Beach was packed with visitors from all over the state and sculptors from all over the world. It was a spectacular 4-day event hosted by the Fort Myers Beach Chamber and Sand Lovers.

FEMA Singles Out Fort Myers Beach
Back in March, Fort Myers Beach, Cape Coral, Estero, Bonita and Unincorporated Lee County were all notified by FEMA they would be losing their discount on National Flood insurance. The main reason was allowing unpermitted work to be done after Hurricane Ian.
Santini Should Have a Restaurant By….
Mid February according to the General Manager of New York Pizza & Pasta. Sanntini Plaza, on the south end of Fort Myers Beach, has been without a restaurant since September of 2022.
The Poinsettia Tree Returns Next Week
Town Manager Andy Hyatt tells Beach Talk Radio that the world famous Poinsettia tree will return to Times Square next week. The tree has been a beloved selfie spot on the beach since 1996. Every year since Ian the Poinsettia’s have been anonymously donated to the town.
