Remove It Pros owner David Lockwood tells us that his company will be knocking down the 24-unit 7-story Strandview condo building at 4560 Estero Boulevard. Once the building is removed the property will go up for sale.
Amanda Cochran Joins BTR This Sunday
Cochran is running for the Lee County Commission seat now occupied by Mike Greenwell. Both are Republicans and they will face off in the August 20th primary. Cochran will be on Beach Talk Radio Sunday at 11:30 after Mayor Allers.

Over the weekend Remove It Pros finished up the demolition of the 22-unit Dolphin Inn at 6555 Estero Boulevard. The future of the property is unknown, it's been for sale for about 500 days now. The sale price is $4.75 million.
FEMA Wants Your Feedback on Flood Insurance Program
As Fort Myers Beach and four other Lee County municipalities wait to hear from FEMA on reinstituting their Flood Insurance discount, FEMA wants feedback from the public on their rating system. The agency will also hold meetings in August to get additional feedback.
Fire District Receives Two Bids For Fire Station
The 5,408 square foot fire station at 3043 Estero Boulevard is for sale and earlier this week the Fort Myers Beach Fire District received two bids for the .14 acre lot. The two bids were $750,000 and $1.1 million. Who made the bids has not been made public yet.
Should Ebikes Be Allowed on Sidewalks?
As of today the answer is no on Fort Myers Beach. While there seems to be a movement to change ordinance 22-04 prohibiting ebikes on sidewalks (and perhaps the beach), it stands for now. Over on Sanibel that may be about to change.

Your 2024 Ballot is in The Mail
The Lee County Elections office will begin the initial mailing of vote-by-Mail ballots for the Primary Election on Tuesday. Approximately 130,000 Vote-by-Mail Ballots will be mailed to voters who requested one for the August 20 Primary Election.
