Mike and Dawn Miller have announced that Saturday, November 8th will be the official grand opening of The Whale, 37 months after Hurricane Ian destroyed the old restaurant.

The Town of Fort Myers Beach will welcome the community back to the Bay Oaks Recreation Center with a  Grand Re-Opening Celebration tomorrow evening from 5PM to 7PM.

Nervous Nellie's, remembering Piratefests from previous years, is trying to revive an old tradition all day this Saturday. The event will feature activities for the kids, including pirate themed crafts and face painting from 12-4PM.

Lee County Commissioner and former Boston Red Sox great Mike Greenwell died last week after a short battle with cancer. The Celebration of Life will include comments from the commissioner’s family, elected officials, and Boston Red Sox representatives.

The Fort Myers Beach Art Association is hosting “Celebration,” an exhibition commemorating FMBAA’s 75th Anniversary. The exhibition runs from October 27th through December 5th.

By now you’ve probably heard that we’re raising money to help the Fort Myers Beach VFW from closing its doors. They are in need of $50,000 to pay storm-related bills and a very generous Fort Myers Beach resident is willing to match anything we raise up to $25,000. As of Tuesday we've raised $8,590.

The owner of the property where Kilwins Chocolates once was will go before the Local Planning Agency Tuesday with a plan to rebuild his location in Times Square. The property is about .03 acres next to Bella Mozzarella. It was destroyed by Hurricane Ian.

Next week Myerside Resort owners Beverly Milligan and Rolland Weinmann will be back before the Local Planning Agency to ask that their approved project be amended to include serving alcohol outside.

Today at 2PM parishioners from the Church of The Ascension on Fort Myers Beach will see plans and renderings of the new building the church plans to build at 6025 Estero Boulevard. We will broadcast that meeting live.
