Fort Myers Beach Town Council Member Karen Woodson's idea to put tolls at the two bridges coming over to Fort Myers Beach was put to rest Wednesday. Woodson wanted to explore installing tolls as a way to reduce traffic to the beach and cut-through's she says occur from the Bonita side.

About 4 dump truck loads of sand was pushed off Fort Myers Beach by Hurricane Debby last Sunday. That sand is being cleaned and put back on the beach by the town as quickly as possible.

Not only did Hurricane Debby push water onto the streets and sand into Times Square and down Old San Carlos, the storm also carried and huge amount of red drift algae from the Gulf and deposited it onto the beach.
