Those 7 property owners now have 2 months to come into compliance, which means clean up their properties, or face the consequences. If their structures are not demolished before the clock runs out, the town will knock them down.

This week the Sanibel City Council advanced an ordinance (in a 5-0 vote) to allow Class 2 ebikes on Sanibel's 26 miles of shared use paths. Class 2 ebikes can go up to 20 MPH. The Fort Myers Beach Town Council is gearing up to possibly change their current ordinance regulating ebikes.

Residents on Bahia Via and Curlew are concerned that London Bay might turn their backyard canal into a water highway. London Bay owns the Charley's Boathouse Restaurant property right at the end of the canal. Bahia Via resident Mike Miller joins the show Saturday at 11 to discuss.

Thursday night The Beach Kids Foundation hosted their annual scholarship dinner at Bonita Bills. This year 20 beach kids received $1,000 scholarships.

The Estero Boulevard lighting project was expected to begin yesterday. It did not. Mayor Dan Allers says the project has been delayed. The reason he was given was a problem with the FPL contractor getting parts and equipment.

Santini Plaza owner Yariv Shaked has confirmed that New York Pizza & Pasta has signed on as a new tenant. The restaurant currently has two locations in Naples and the hope is to have them open by later this year or early next year on Fort Myers Beach.
