The Community Foundation was hoping to sell 300 tickets to their Carribean Chillers concert last night. They wound up selling over 500. It was standing room only. The weather was perfect for the Jimmy Buffett tribute band that played for two hours at Fish-Tale Marina.
The Chillers played nearly 30 songs leading off with “Margaritaville” and finishing with a “Brown Eyed Girl.”
They played many of the Buffett favorites with lots of people dancing to favorites such as “Come Monday”, CCRs “Proud Mary”, Sam Cooke’s “Another Saturday Night”, “Fins”, “It’s 5 O’Clock Somewhere” Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Gimme 3 Steps” and The Beach Boys “Kokomo”.
Other favorites included “Tin Cup Chalice”, “Pencil Thin Mustache”, CCRs “Green River”, “Changes in Latitude”, “Cheeseburger in Paradise”, “One Particular Harbor”, “Grapefruit – Juicy Fruit”, “Volcano” and “Pirate Looks at 40.”
Proceeds from the event will go to the Fort Myers Beach Community Foundation.
