BTR 5K Raises $16,500 For Woman’s Club
Our New Year's Eve 5K, which started and ended at DiamondHead Resort, on Fort Myers Beach raised $16,500 for the Fort Myers Beach Woman’s Club. 640 people registered for the 2nd annual event.
Wyndham Must Come Down in 13 Days
The owners of the Wyndham now have 13 days to start knocking down their dilapidated resort buildings on Estero Boulevard. The town gave them 30 days to start the demo work back on December 16th.
Town Target List Down to 6 For Now
6 property owners will now appear in front of a State Administrative Judge next week, down from 8 one week ago. The town of Fort Myers Beach is going after these property owners to remove trailers and conex storage boxes.

Historical Speaker Series Begins January 13
The Historical Society is hosting its first public meeting of the year Monday, January 13th at 2PM at the Mound House. The guest speaker will be Director of the Blanchard House Museum of African American History and Culture of Charlotte County Martha Bierda
Mound House Movie Night
Movies on the Mound returns Saturday January 11th at 7PM with a free outdoor screening of the animated Disney film Encanto. A craft station themed with the movie begins at 6PM. The event is free and open to the public.

Art Association Hosting Fundraiser For New Building

Another Fort Myers Beach staple is back open for business with a full menu and fully stocked bar. Smokin Oyster Brewery on Old San Carlos is now being run by the owners of Wahoo Willie’s and Snug Harbor after being purchased by Ben Freeland at Moss Marina.
Bowditch Service A Huge Success
Over 400 people flocked to Fort Myers Beach for the Christmas Eve service at Bowditch Park on the north end of the island. Hurricanes and COVID sidelined the event for several years which is hosted by Westminster Presbyterian Church.
