To commemorate Earth Day 2025 The Pink Shell Resort is hosting a beach cleanup at 7AM today. Volunteers can show up at the resort and let the parking attendants know you are there for the cleanup. 

They’ve been open for months but never had a chance to host an official ribbon cutting due to the busy tourist season. The management team of Smokin’ Oyster Brewery is inviting the community to their official ribbon cutting on May 16th.

Another business has opened in Santini Plaza on the South end of Fort Myers Beach. Gavin’s Ace Hardware officially opened Monday. Gavin’s Ace is new to Santini Plaza. This is their third location in Southwest, Florida. 

Annie Meehan’s Easter Sunday Sunrise Service on Fort Myers Beach was a smashing success. Over 400 people attended the service at Newton Park.

Easter Sunday was a very special day at St. Peter Lutheran Church. Over 200 people turned out for Easter service in the newly rebuilt sanctuary. Reverend Tom Frey delivered a message of hope and salvation and the choir offered some amazing music.

Registration for our 3rd Annual Day Before Mother's Day 5K Run and 1-Mile walk is open. The event will start and finish at Margaritaville Resort where the Meagan Rose Band will perform live after the medal ceremony.

Vice Mayor Jim Atterholt is our guest this Sunday at 11AM live from Wahoo Willie's. The Vice Mayor will give us a detailed update on Santini Plaza and all the other issues the Town Council is working through heading into the Summer. 

Join Beach Talk Radio and Guardians of Florida Animal Rescue for another pet adoption day on Saturday at Margaritaville from 11AM to 2PM. You'll be able to see pets, cuddle with them, and adopt them so they have a forever home.

Tunaskin’s Mid-May Mayhen Beach Fishing Tournament will be held May 17th on Fort Myers Beach. Teams of two will fish from the beach and compete for thousands of dollars in prizes. Adult team registration is $75 and Jr team registration (5-15) is $50.

Today is the 55th anniversary of Earth Day and the United States Coast Guard Auxillary is reminding kayakers and paddle boarders about essential safety gear they should bring along while out on the water. 

The Fort Myers Beach Anchorage Advisory Committee and Marine Operations Team are hosting a celebration for boaters who use the Matanzas Pass Mooring Field. The public is invited to attend the event at Bayside Park, Sunday April 27th at 1PM. 

Hyatt has agreed to stay on as Town Manager until the end of May to help with his transition out. The town will pay Hyatt an additional $1,000 for the month of May on top of the regular monthly installment from his $197,000 annual salary.

The Fort Myers Beach Art Association is hosting its first show in their new Gallery. “Spring Fling” will kick off the summer series of rotating exhibitions, with a different theme each month. This show runs from Tuesday, April 22 – Friday, May 30.

SanCap Bank has opened a temporary office at 100 Lovers Lane on Fort Myers Beach that will be open every Wednesday from 9:30AM to 2PM. This is the only bank open on the entire island. SanCap is planning to build a new bank on Estero Boulevard by next year.
