Anthony Shiro owns Sweet Licks Ice Cream in Santini Plaza which opens this morning at 8AM after receiving their final health inspection Monday. Sweet Licks will include ice cream, coffee, breakfast and smoothies.

For several months now, the Town of Fort Myers Beach has been cleaning out the 43 canals up and down the entire 7-mile island. The canals were filled with all sorts of debris from several hurricanes over the past three years but mainly Ian in September of 2022.

The next Fort Myers Beach Chamber of Commerce morning networking event is Thursday, March 6th at 8AM at Bad Ass Coffee, which is expected to open in Santini Plaza at the end of March.

On Thursday, Fort Myers Beach Public Safety Committee member Todd Capella said the free Lee County Tram on Fort Myers Beach is useless and needs to go. He would like to see the town say something to Lee County to end the service.

Since posting the position, Fort Myers Beach has received 38 applications for Town Manager. One month ago, current Town Manager Andy Hyatt announced he was not interested in extending his 2-year contract. That set in motion his 100 day notice.

The Fort Myers Beach Art Association Art Bazaar to benefit students is returning to Santini Plaza Sunday March 16th from 9AM to 3PM. Artists will be selling original artwork, both framed and unframed, as well as cards.
