On Sunday Bayside Park was hopping as the Fort Myers Beach Anchorage Advisory Committee and Harbormaster Curtis Ludwig’s Marine Operations Department celebrated the boaters who use the mooring field.

As a result of several sponsors the boaters were treated to a free meal from Snug Harbor Restaurant and thanks to a boatload of local businesses and resorts a ton of prizes were raffled off during the event.

Nearly 20 non-profit organizations set up on the grass at Bayside Park, many of them water and environment related.

Anchorage Committee Chair Chris King told Beach Talk Radio it was a huge success and she looks forward to being part of the event for years to come.

Vice Mayor Jim Attorholt who is the Town Council liason to the committee said, “The Anchorage Advisory Committee did an amazing job partnering with our Harbormaster to demonstrate FMB hospitality to all of our boaters who visit the mooring field.  I would like to thank all our sponsors (including Beach Talk Radio), those local business who donated prizes and all the not-for-profits who participated—it was a great day for our community.

The event was followed up with the Sunday night concert at Bayside Park featuring Riverside.
