Another favorite local restaurant is on the mend after being damaged by Hurricane Ian. Dixie Fish Company announced on Facebook that the restaurant should be open in January.
The building itself held up fairly well through the storm however, water from the storm surge swept away everything not bolted down. They are in the process of rebuilding their kitchen.

A wildly popular restaurant for locals and tourists alike, The Dixie Fish Co. is located under the Matanzas Pass Bridge right next to Doc Ford’s. It was originally built in 1937 primarily as a Fish Market. The location right on the water made it an ideal location for fisherman having the freshest seafood around, including what became known as Pink Gold.
