Monday at 5PM the Fort Myers Beach Town Council is expected to approve a millage rate of .99 per $1,000 of assessed property value for fiscal year 2025. It’s the same millage rate the town had on the books in both 2023 and 2024.
The town will still see an increase of $1.3 million in additional revenue from ad valorem taxes next year due to the property values on Fort Myers Beach increasing 54% over last year. However, it will still be $600,816 less than had been collected in FY23. The increase over fiscal 2024 will enable the town to add $425,000 to its Emergency Reserve Fund.
Monday is the 2nd of two budget hearings. The first was held on September 9th. The fiscal year begins on October 1st.
